TPA AND PTR RENEW PARTNERSHIP THROUGH 2016

Toronto, October 15, 2013 – Tennis Canada announced Tuesday that the successful partnership between the Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) and Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) has been renewed for three more years with a new contract commencing in January 2014.

“We are very pleased to be extending our relationship with the PTR, as it has really been a great partnership over the past three years,” said Ari Novick, Director of Coaching & Competition Development, Tennis Canada. “The PTR offers a number of added benefits to our TPA members, and this continued partnership will further help our goal of growing and developing the profession of tennis coaching across Canada.”

Originally introduced into the TPA in 2011, the PTR provides subscriptions to TennisPro and TennisOne – which offer valuable educational articles for tennis coaches – plus access to special PTR educational events and symposiums, and additional seminars to be held within Canada. PTR benefits are available to Level 2 TPA members.

“Over the last three years, the partnership between PTR and TPA has proven the game of tennis can benefit greatly by having two quality organizations working together to improve our sport,” said Dan Santorum, CEO of PTR.

Founded in 1976, the PTR is the largest global tennis teaching organization with approximately 14,000 members in 117 countries. Recognized worldwide, the PTR’s mission to grow the game of tennis is executed through educating, certifying, and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the globe. PTR membership offers extensive educational materials, opportunities, career assistance and many other significant resources.

The TPA, which will be entering its 10th year in 2014, aims to grow the profession of tennis coaching throughout Canada. Over 2,800 certified instructors, coaches, and club professionals across the country are members of the TPA and have access to its numerous benefits, including but not limited to: regular communication from Tennis Canada on all of the latest news and upcoming events; access to the latest job postings; exclusive discounts to a variety of tennis products; and access to many online coaching resources.
