Seventh Annual TPA National Conference a Success!

On March 8^th and 9^th, The Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) held its seventh annual TPA National Coaching Conference at the Rexall Centre in Toronto. A total of 125 coaches, pros, and tennis enthusiasts attended the event that featured presentations by the leader of the West Coast National Training Centre Oded Jacob, Davis Cup Captain Martin Laurendeau, and Tennis Canada’s U12 Head National Coach Andre Labelle. The annual event also featured presentations by Robby Menard, owner and director of the Menard/Girardian Tennis Academy in Quebec and Dennis Lindsay, Tennis Canada’s Regional and National Fitness Coach.

Winners of the 2011 TPA Excellence Awards and 2012 Gary Caron TPA Scholarship were announced during the Wilson TPA Awards Breakfast on Friday. Congratulations goes to the following worthy recipients:

2011 Coach of the Year: Harry Greenan (ON)
2011 Professional of the Year: Timm Fisher (ON)
2011 Facility of the Year: Granite Club (ON)
2011 Service to the Game Award: Joachim Nierfeld (BC)
2012 Gary Caron TPA Scholarship: Mathieu Sarrazin (QC)
